John
Latini
John Latini’s music
is at once personal and approachable. His smart, candid commentary
covers the expanse of the human condition - love, loss and longing,
sure, but also fun, farce and failing. His characters are losers
and/or winners, just like us, and we wonder how, but they find
their way - just like us. Their stories are vivid episodes –
complex experiences described in simple terms by an articulate
narrator.
“… A key element of the
band’s sound is the voice of lead singer John Latini. Recalling the
raspy, liquor-soaked growl of Tom Waits, Latini’s soulfully
controlled vocals animate the stories of the songs. At once smooth
and rough, his singing sounds alternately celebratory, remorseful,
seductive and dangerous.” Stephanie Kadel-Taras - Ann Arbor
Observer
“(Jonesy writes) in the timeless tradition of The Band, and with
the lyrical integrity of your best friend.” Jim Roll - Producer,
Engineer, Songwriter
“… John Latini pulls it all
together. On top of his knack for evoking stories through
elliptical lyrics, this guy has got one helluva voice. Gruff,
hearty, filled with hard-edged soul, it falls somewhere between Tom
Waits’ bourbon-soaked rasp and Bob Seger’s heartland croon. It’s
the voice of a guy that has been around awhile, seen a few things,
and could tell you some good stories over a beer or two.”
